How your donations help
Whether it is a donation in memory of a loved one, supporting a fundraising event, donating or buying from one of our charity shops, leaving a gift in your will – through the charity you are supporting the care given by Florence Nightingale Hospice.
Each year we raise £450,000 to fund the following services:
Florrie’s Children’s Team
A visit by the paediatric nurse costs us £70
Lymphoedema Clinic
A patient attendance at the clinic costs us £67
Day Hospice
A visit to Day Hospice costs us £143
Inpatient Nursing and Community Nursing Specialists
A visit to the patient’s home by a Community Nurse Specialist costs us £68
A bed costs £4,000 and with a pain-relieving mattresses at £4,000, the total cost is £8,000 and we have 12.
A syringe driver costs £880 and we have 14.
Volunteer Service
We appreciate the help volunteers give by donating their time and we do try and ensure that volunteers are not out of pocket. Some are able to donate their travel costs as well, but for those where this would be an added burden, we offer help in reimbursing mileage. We know that volunteer drivers covered more than 20,000 miles last year in transporting our patients.
