Volunteering
What does Volunteering involve?
- meeting new people
- making new friends
- learning new skills
- being a valued member of a team
We can match your skills with our needs.
We have a wonderful team of volunteers who say they get more out of volunteering than they give to help the Hospice, but we ALWAYS need more volunteers to meet the ever-increasing need.
Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity … have 40 volunteers who help with collections, admin duties, promotional stands, various events, charity stalls, knitting, cake making, setting up events, delivering leaflets and street collections to mention a few. Maybe you could hold a coffee morning or start up a local group?
Florence Nightingale Hospice Shops … have over 70 volunteers in their shops in Chinnor, Wendover, Aylesbury and Winslow helping with steaming, pricing, sorting, stocking the shop, window dressing and working on the tills. There is also a Furniture Warehouse in Aylesbury where volunteers are needed. Can you offer half a day to some retail therapy?!!
Day Hospice Drivers We are looking to recruit additional drivers to join our team. Drivers bring Day Hospice patients into the Hospice one day a week. This is a very rewarding volunteer role which includes patient contact. If you enjoy driving and meeting people and would like to be part of a team, this could be the ideal role for you. Patients are picked up from their homes and brought into the Day Hospice for 10.00 am and then collected to go home at 3.00 pm. Full training and support is provided.
A warm welcome awaits you.
