Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity invites everyone who has lost loved ones, whether they were cared for by our Hospice or not, and regardless of religion or faith, to join us at the Tree of Light commemorations and to honour and celebrate them by dedicating a Christmas light to their memory.
Christmas is a time when we particularly think of those who are no longer with us, and our Tree of Light events and Book of Honour provide a focus for families and friends to mark this in a variety of different ways.
Walton LodgeThe first Tree of Light ceremony takes place at the Head Office of Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
- Walton Lodge, Walton Street, Aylesbury
- Sunday 3rd December
BuckinghamThe second Tree of Light commemoration will take place at:
- St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Castle Street, Buckingham MK18 1BS
- Saturday 9th December
The ceremonies will be led by the Hospice Chaplain, the Rev Carole Hough, and will include festive carols, music and a selection of readings.
You do not have to register to attend the events, but if you would like to make a dedication donation or to get more information, please call our Fundraising Team on 01296 429 975 or to request a Tree of Light Form to be sent to you in the post.
Sponsor a light in memory of someone special and write a dedication or tribute to them to appear in our Book of Honour which will be available to view at our two Tree of Light events. The names of those included in the Book of Honour will also feature in an edition of The Bucks Herald if you wish. Everyone who dedicates a light can choose to receive a personal card of acknowledgment and an invitation to the Tree of Light ceremony.
In addition the tree outside Florence Nightingale Hospice will shine throughout the festive season and into New Year.
Please note that the deadline for us to be able to put your dedication in the Book of Honour and in the Bucks Herald is 27th November, but if you still wish to donate, we will be processing forms and donations after this date.
