Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity’s relationships and partnerships with companies large and small have been hugely beneficial to the Hospice in so many ways – and we like to think that the companies benefit too. As well as being good for the company’s profile and reputation in the community, the Charity’s corporate partners find that fundraising and volunteering for FNHC provide team-building and morale-boosting activities for your staff and customers.

Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity is a charity that people in Buckinghamshire, south Bedfordshire and parts of Oxfordshire can relate to because it cares directly for them and people they know.

Sadly, many of your staff, customers, shareholders and members will experience the death of someone close to them from a life-limiting or terminal illness such as cancer, and may need the specialist care and support which Florence Nightingale Hospice offers.

By linking your company name with Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, you will be associated with an organisation known for its support and funding of local Hospice services and excellence in clinical care and education.

We rely on the incredible generosity and support of our corporate partners to help keep both in-patient and at-home services running locally, which costs Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity over £750,000 each year to fund.

Working with a charity like Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity can improve how customers view your brand, according to a study by financial services organisation, Foresters. Their research found that, “consumers are more likely to use businesses that support good causes”, with 89% of consumers thinking businesses should support a charity, and 47% of these saying they are more likely to buy from those companies.

Our team will work with you to ensure that you get the exposure that you want from your commitment to fundraising for the Charity. Make sure you let us know when you have chosen FNHC as your Charity of the Year or are planning an event or and we will promote your fundraising efforts via:

  • Press releases sent to local media or community publications

Your employees can support Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity through your payroll giving scheme. Giving directly through a payslip each month is a simple and effective way to support a charity.

It’s tax-free, which means that if you pay the basic rate of tax, and you donate £8 from your payroll each month, the charity receives £10. If you are on the higher tax rate of 40 per cent, your £10 gift would cost you only £6 a month.

For more information about payroll giving, please click here to go to the Payroll Giving information on the HM Revenue and Customs website.

Mobile phones, stamps, printer cartridges, foreign coinage, clothes, bric-a-brac, furniture, electrical goods and unwanted gifts all help to raise funds and help the environment too.

In addition to raising money for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, recycling is a simple way to achieve your company’s environmental objectives by demonstrating responsible business practices.

Forget spending money on expensive Team Away Days… get your staff together for some hands-on volunteering as demonstrated by Santander employees in the video above. Your employees could also help with store/street collections, supermarket bag-packing, marshalling at events like Midnight Walk, gift-wrapping at Christmas… the list is endless!
We have a number of events such as Music Quizzes or challenge events such as Colour Rush throughout the year for you and your colleagues to get involved in, so why not get a team together and take part, raising sponsorship along the way? Companies can also offer match-funding to employees who take on challenges to fundraise for charity - if you are participating in an event and raising money for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, ask your employer if they would match what you raise and therefore double the amount you can give to the Charity?

Fundraising at work provides a great chance for colleagues to get to know each other. It’s fun, sociable and offers great team-building opportunities.

There are many ways for you to get involved. Take part in our annual Aylesbury Bake Off or organise your own event such as dress-up/down days, bake sales, office danceathons or even sports tournaments for staff and customers.
