Florence Nightingale Hospice is an adult hospice that has a Children’s Respite Service attached to it, called Florrie’s Children’s Team.

Any healthcare professional may refer a patient to any part of the service. If, after discussion, the referral is thought to be inappropriate the referrer will be directed to a more suitable alternative.

All referrals are assessed individually by a multi-disciplinary team. Referrals can either be written or verbal. Verbal referrals are more usual when an in-patient bed is required urgently.

The Hospice’s catchment area is mainly the county of Buckinghamshire plus some parts of Oxfordshire (around Thame) and south Bedfordshire (around Leighton Buzzard). Click here for a list of towns and villages served by the Hospice.
