To assist the Manager in our Charity Shops to receive and prepare donations and serve the Charity’s customers, in order to raise funds for Hospice services.
  • Receiving and sorting donations, looking out for any unusual or valuable items
  • Preparing clothing donations for sale (hanging, sizing, steaming and labelling)
  • Pricing clothing items at their full value to generate maximum income by considering factors such as brand, quality and condition of the garment
  • Help to maintain a continuous supply of fresh stock for our customers
  • Pricing non clothing donations, taking into account age, demand, condition and collectability
  • Operating our stock rotation procedure
  • Arranging saleable stock into themed displays
  • Serving customers – helping with queries, using the till
  • General cleaning of showroom/display area
  • Passion for the Hospice Charity

You will receive full training and an Induction plus ongoing support from the Shop Manager and fellow volunteers.

Why do we need you?

To assist the Manager in our eCommerce office to prepare and present donations, in order to raise funds for Hospice services.

What will you be doing?

  • Dress mannequins and prepare items ready to photograph in an eye-catching way.
  • Take photographs to bring out the features of items.
  • Adjust lighting equipment as required.
  • Upload images to Desktop

What skills will you need?

  • Interest in photography. (No experience necessary as training will be provided).
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team alongside other volunteers.
  • Creativity with photography and when describing the items, which will be placed online for the customers to view.
  • Reliability and some flexibility when responding to management requests and suggestions.
